Monogrammed Lilly Party Invite Tutorial

Hey y'all!  I think we can all agree that Lilly Pulitzer was the queen of parties.  One of my favorite little Lilly quotes was "Let's have a party, let's have it tonight".  What better way to let your guests know they're invited than with a monogrammed invitation?  Here's how to do it!

1. Obtain the font: If you don't a monogram font installed on your computer, you can download one for free here.  This is a safe and reliable download; it's the one I use.

2. Open a new MS Word document.

3. Pick a Lilly print: If you don't have one saved to your computer already, Pulitzer Prints is one of my favorite sources.  I also have the vast majority of them on mine, so email me if there's one you can't find.  Don't limit yourself to Lilly though!
{Note: if you're getting a print from the Pulitzer Prints archive, be sure to click the image twice, so that it displays the largest size with the highest resolution}

4. Insert the Lilly print into the Word document

5. Set the text wrapping to "Through" and resize the image to take up the entire page

6. Insert a circle: On the "Insert" tab, select "Shapes" and choose the circle.  Make sure the circle is selected then, under the "Format" tab and the "Arrange" category, center align it.

7. Customize your circle: Keeping the circle selected, use the "Format" tab to change it's color and add an outline.

8. Add the monogram: Using the "Insert" tab, add a text box and make it transparent using the "Format" feature.  Type in your monogram and change it to the color of your choice.  Your font size will of course depend on the size of your circle and the letters in your monogram.  When working with Monogram KK, it's important to know that the left and right letters should be entered as lowercase and the center initial should be entered as a capital.  I made my m and my j a size 140 font, and my B was a 160.  Be sure to center align this as well!

9. Add and format another text box for your information: Make the next text box as big as you need to, be remember to center align.  I'm using the font Mountains of Christmas!

10. Save, print, and enjoy!

I hope y'all think these invitations are as cute as I do.  Good luck and have fun!
